Purpose of Job
The candidate will support the origination of private equity secondaries financings, single fund NAV facilities and single stock margin loans within Global Markets in a manner consistent with CIBC’s Risk Framework. The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, hardworking, production-focused sales team. The incumbent’s mandate is to provide exceptional service and support to clients, with a focus on activities that will increase the distribution of products within the network.
Main Objectives
·Adapt to dynamic conditions with creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit in order to meet the evolving demands of the marketplace.
- Play key senior role in managing and growing the desk’s business, including new client development as well as ongoing client and transaction lifecycle management.
- Proactively identify, develop, motivate and retain top talent within the group
- Keep up with market trends
- Initiate and build client relationships, including value-add idea generation, client meetings/presentations and customized solutions providing trusted advice
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the trading floor
- Liaise with Structured Equity Finance (trading) and other CIBC groups (GCF, Credit, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Client onboarding, etc.) to deliver transactions to clients
Skills / Knowledge Required
- A minimum 10 years in the financial services industry and experience within structured equity finance..
- The ability to cover senior client relationships and develop new accounts.
- Proven revenue generator with established client relationships
- Willing to work extended hours.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good team player.
- Computer literacy – Excel, Word, Bloomberg, Reuters, EFX Trading Platforms.
- Graduate with relevant business degree.
- PRA/FCA qualified.
