JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to
provide strategic leadership to develop and implement financial management
strategies and policies to optimize fiscal performance and ensure compliance
with national and international financial regulations and standards.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides
strategic guidance to oversee all financial operations, including budgeting,
forecasting, and financial reporting, to ensure fiscal integrity and compliance
with regulatory requirements.
Developing
and implementing financial strategies aligned with organisational goals and
market dynamics to support long-term financial sustainability and growth.
Implementing
initiatives to optimize revenue collection processes, enhance revenue streams,
and minimize revenue leakages, thereby maximizing financial performance.
Implementing
cost management strategies to optimize expenses, improve cost efficiency, and
enhance overall financial performance.
Identifying,
assessing, and managing financial risks effectively to safeguard BURS’
financial assets and ensure business continuity.
Ensuring
compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal
policies, and maintaining high standards of financial governance and
transparency.
Building
and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including regulators and
internal teams, to ensure alignment and collaboration in achieving financial
objectives.
Monitoring
financial performance metrics, analysing variances, and identifying areas for
improvement to drive informed decision-making and strategic adjustments.
Promoting
the adoption of innovative financial technologies and solutions to streamline
processes, enhance efficiency, and support digital transformation initiatives.
Providing
visionary leadership, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability, and
developing the skills and capabilities of the financial team to achieve
departmental and organisational objectives.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A Professional Accounting
qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA or related). Membership of a professional
body is a mandatory requirement for this role.
At least 10 years relevant work experience in
financial management or accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a management
capacity.
