Participates in monthly financial close meetings. Prepares the annual Hospital budget, cost reports, and other governmental financial and statistical reports. Maintains accurate records for filing financial and payroll-related reports. Monitors, maintains, and updates all third-party contract files for accounting documentation. Prepares and presents timely and accurate monthly departmental operating reports to Hospital staff. Prepares monthly exhibits for the accurate presentation of all third-party reimbursement contractual allowances. Ensures that audit results for cost reports are within acceptable ranges. Ensures that revenue audit findings are communicated in a timely manner. Ensures that financial statement audits result in no unexpected adjustments to allowances for Accounts Receivable. Oversees preparation and files Medicare, Medicaid, and AHCA prior year cost reports annually and on a timely basis. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate with all hospital contacts.
• Effectively communicates with all age groups, populations, and individuals inside and outside the facility.
• Must possess basic typing skills, computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology and report writing.
• Proficient in MS Office; able to create Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
• Ability to coordinate and spearhead meetings and interact as a speaker with good presentation skills.
• Must be self-motivated, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize assignments.
• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be well-organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Working knowledge of healthcare accounting methods and reporting, standards development, costing methodologies, utilization measurements, and financial modeling.
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
• Must possess working knowledge of AS400, Basware, Lawson, Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, macros, pivot tables, VBA, etc.), PeopleSoft, and proficiency in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Oracle PeopleSoft, and Syntellis Axiom (for budget planning) preferred.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and co-workers, follow directions, and perform work according to department standards with little or no supervision.
