About the Role
This role is a rare opportunity for a highly capable Executive Assistant to operate as the strategic right hand to a senior commercial leader at Macmillan Education. It goes far beyond traditional administrative support: you will be embedded in the commercial engine of the business, working at the intersection of partnerships, sales, licensing, and regional operations across Europe and global markets.
The Executive Assistant will have visibility into high‑value commercial initiatives, partner negotiations, and cross‑regional priorities and will play a critical role in keeping momentum, alignment, and clarity across teams. This is the ideal role for an Executive Assistant who thrives in fast‑moving, globally connected environments and wants to contribute meaningfully to revenue‑driving work, not just manage logistics.
The candidate will shape the rhythm of the executive’s world: structuring their time, preparing them for partner conversations, ensuring follow‑through on commercial commitments, and creating the systems that keep the organisation moving forward. Ones judgment, communication skills, and operational instincts will directly influence the effectiveness of the leader you support.
Role Responsibilities:
Acting as the executive’s strategic right hand — managing priorities, creating structure, and ensuring seamless execution across commercial, partnerships, and regional teams.
Owning a complex, multi‑time‑zone calendar with strategic judgment, preparing materials and context ahead of meetings, and ensuring the executive is always one step ahead.
Coordinating communication and alignment across London custom publishing/licensing, Western Europe sales, and global partnerships, adapting style and approach to different cultures and stakeholders.
Drafting clear, polished communications — emails, briefs, partner updates, internal summaries — often on behalf of the executive and always with precision and discretion.
Tracking progress on commercial initiatives, partnership pipelines, and sales deliverables, ensuring follow‑through, accountability, and timely completion of actions.
Building and maintaining systems that create order: meeting rhythms, trackers, dashboards, follow‑up processes, and information flows that keep the organisation moving.
Managing sensitive commercial information with absolute confidentiality, navigating internal dynamics with maturity, and representing the executive with professionalism.
Anticipating needs before they arise — identifying issues early, resolving them quietly, and removing friction so the executive can focus on strategy, partnerships, and growth.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
Experience (7–12 years) supporting senior commercial, partnerships, or business development leaders.
Has operated in global or regional roles where coordination across markets, cultures, and time zones.
Comfortable interacting with senior external partners, C‑suite stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams.
