Meet AppSumo

AppSumo is the first place entrepreneurs start. We help small businesses become Sumo-sized by promoting great software at awesome prices. We’ve helped launch thousands of top B2B tools like Mailchimp, Evernote, Intercom, and Dropbox just to name a few.

The foundation of our culture is treating teammates like adults. We're intentionally not corporate (down with the red tape!). Our voice, our culture, and our brand are unique. We're a company of entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. We don't think of our teammates as cogs in the system but as individuals who bring a unique perspective to the culture, vision, and strategy of the business.

At AppSumo, we believe work doesn’t have to suck. Ready to join us?

Why this is your dream job:

As Executive Assistant, you’ll provide high-level administrative support to the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, you’ll help manage the schedule and administrative tasks of the leadership team. You'll also assist the Chief of Staff and leadership team with calendaring, expenses, and occasional special projects.

We’re looking for someone creative who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment. Our ideal candidate exercises good judgment when navigating new situations, has strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and knows how to maintain a balance between competing priorities.

  • Scheduling (and re-scheduling) meetings across multiple time zones with busy executives and groups by email and phone
  • Being proactive in making the most of executive time and thinking of ways to better all of our lives
  • Working closely with the AppSumo Chief of Staff and Noah Kagan’s Chief of Staff to ensure highest professional alignment and strategic prioritization
  • Managing sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion, especially decisions directly impacting the operations of the company
  • Booking flights, hotel, and other travel arrangements
  • Other occasional activities:
    • Reviewing expenses and submitting expense reports
    • Helping to execute culture events (we call them CMFs aka “Company Mandated Fun”)
    • Facilitating one-off projects
    • Running errands to take something to the post office, get a poster framed, return a purchase, or deliver a gift to an employee

Past experience:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience in an executive assistant role supporting C-level
  • You are efficient and highly communicative
  • Hyper attention to detail and high emotional intelligence skills are required
  • You are a problem solver - you look for ways to make things work better and how to turn chaos into systems
  • You are organized and you plan ahead, but you don't get stressed out when things change at the last minute - because they will
  • You're unfazed - when everyone else is getting stressed or excited, you keep your cool
  • Startup experience preferred
  • Previous experience with SaaS, entrepreneurship, or tech is a plus!

The benefits:

  • Health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield, plus vision, dental, life insurance, and mental health services for you and your loved ones
  • 401(k) matching
  • 100% remote work model
  • Open vacation (PTO) policy (plan to make your Slack status a “🌴” at least one week per quarter)

Unique perks to take care of you:

  • Flexible hours that let you start late or take that midday power nap
  • Freedom to have a side hustle (we don’t treat that word like it’s Voldemort)
  • Free access to all the software and tools in the AppSumo marketplace
  • An invite to our annual all-expenses-paid company trip (think Costa Rican Resort, not teambuilding at Generic Corporate Venue #84)
  • Free lunch once a week, all the gear you need, and work that actually makes an impact
