A Day in the LifeThis candidate will be part of the corporate governance team of Medtronic’s corporate legal department that provides administrative support to VP Chief Corporate & Securities Counsel, Corporate Governance Team, and Risk Management Team. Individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. The candidate must be experienced, organized, process-driven and confident in his/her abilities.
This position will report to the VP, Chief Corporate & Securities Counsel.

This position will reside at our Operational Headquarters location in Fridley, MN.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Takes direction from VP Chief Corporate & Securities Counsel
  • Provides general administrative support including meeting and conference coordination, large group events, ordering supplies, and submitting expenses.
  • Support project management initiatives including database management and efficiency projects
  • Performs a wide variety of non-routine administrative tasks and may support special projects or assignments.
  • Create meeting minutes, manage agendas, and track actions as needed.
  • Gathers, compiles, and reports on information relevant to supervisor's assignment.
  • Leads or supports coordination across department for larger team or special events
  • Assist in preparation of department presentations, objectives, and other key materials for internal and external meetings.
  • Use problem solving skills for process improvement in systems and processes.
  • Travel planning
  • Interaction with high level internal and external stakeholders and exposure to Confidential Information

Manage Legal Files and Document Preparation
  • Maintain Medtronic Restricted List
  • Support Risk Management team invoicing
  • Draft, review and revise significant volume of legal documentation including agreements, resolutions, correspondence
  • Photocopy, scan and assemble documents
Manage Calendars and Process Communications
  • Set appointments/meetings/conference calls/videoconferences
  • Keep calendars and deadlines current
  • Read and respond appropriately to e-mails, mail and phone messages
  • Interface with business clients, high level executives and senior management teams
  • Plan and arrange in-person meetings and/or video conferences
General Administration
  • Process legal invoices, expense reports and AmEx expenses for payment
  • Data entry into a variety of platforms
  • Manage department needs for equipment, file space and supplies
  • Maintain or create procedures for corporate legal department practice areas

MUST HAVE: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years of administrative experience to include experience supporting executive level leaders

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Administrative experience supporting Legal within a corporate legal department or Law Firm preferred
  • Legal Secretarial accreditation and/or certification
  • Post-secondary degree or education
  • MS Office
  • Ability to maintain composure in this high demand and sometimes high stress position
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Detail oriented
  • Team player with ability to accommodate differing work styles
  • Resourceful
  • Self-motivated and willing to work independently when necessary

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$72,400.00 - $108,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
