Position Summary:
The EVS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Environmental Services (EVS) team, including EVS Attendants, EVS Utility Specialists, and supplemental support personnel across assigned shifts, ensuring all public, back-of-house, and operational areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position provides direct supervision of EVS team members, assigns tasks, inspects completed work, and reinforces safety and sanitation procedures. The EVS Supervisor supports onboarding and training, scheduling coordination, inventory monitoring, quality control inspections, operational reporting, and shift leadership while maintaining clear communication with the EVS Manager and other departments. This position helps promote service excellence and operational efficiency within a 24-hour casino environment. This position reports directly to the EVS Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino’s culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Supervise the daily work of EVS Attendants, EVS Utility Specialists, and supplemental support personnel to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards.
- Assist the EVS Manager in coordinating daily operational priorities, staffing assignments, and shift activities in alignment with business needs, special events, and operational requirements.
- Assign and monitor daily work assignments, ensuring team members complete tasks efficiently, safely, and in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the onboarding and training of EVS team members on assigned shift(s), including reinforcement of departmental procedures, safety practices, service standards, and operational expectations.
- Complete and maintain required training acknowledgments and departmental documentation related to onboarding and training activities.
- Conduct daily routine inspections of public areas, back-of-house zones, restrooms, and other high-traffic spaces to verify cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards.
- Complete and maintain departmental quality control inspections, daily logs, supply usage records, staff performance notes, team member break and lunch records, and other required operational documentation.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE), and confirm compliance with all applicable safety procedures.
- Monitor supply usage, inventory levels, and equipment readiness; report shortages or concerns as needed.
- Respond to cleaning emergencies, spills, biohazard incidents, and other operational needs while ensuring appropriate safety and sanitation procedures are followed and documented.
- Respond to operational needs and provide hands-on coverage when necessary to maintain service standards.
- Generate departmental work orders and planned maintenance requests through CMMS systems as needed.
- Report workplace injuries in accordance with established procedures and complete required documentation for submission to Risk Management and Human Resources.
- Submit required shift reports and operational updates to the EVS Manager at the end of assigned shift(s), including maintenance activities completed, quality control inspections conducted, inventory concerns, staffing issues, and other operational matters.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate operational priorities, staffing assignments, safety reminders, and service expectations.
- Communicate effectively with the EVS Manager, Engineering, Security, Food & Beverage, and other departments to address concerns and coordinate support.
- Report equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, operational concerns, and facility issues promptly while following through to resolution.
- Assist the EVS Manager with hiring activities, coaching, disciplinary meetings, performance documentation, and annual performance evaluations as assigned.
- Assist with oversight and coordination of supplemental support personnel and contracted service providers operating within assigned areas.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership and communication skills; able to supervise, train, and motivate a large and diverse team across multiple shifts.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, materials, equipment, and safety standards.
- Ability to assist with coordinating staff schedules, shift assignments, and daily operational priorities in a dynamic, 24-hour environment.
- Ability to delegate work appropriately and manage operational needs based on business priorities.
- Skilled in conducting inspections and maintaining quality control over cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
- Skilled in conducting pre-shift meetings and communicating operational expectations clearly.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to maintain records, complete reports, and follow up on assigned tasks.
- Comfortable using radios, scheduling tools, CMMS platforms, and basic software systems to support operations.
- Able to remain flexible, respond to urgent issues, and provide hands-on support when needed.
- Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in environmental services, custodial operations, or a similar role with at least one (1) of these years in a supervisory or lead position required.
- Experience in a casino, hotel, hospital, or similar 24/7 facility environment preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment, safety protocols, inventory procedures, and operational reporting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and be insurable.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, including passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires manual dexterity and physical ability to perform cleaning inspections, respond to operational needs, and assist with training or task coverage as needed.
- Must be able to operate computers, two-way radios, and standard cleaning equipment.
- Work may involve extended periods of walking, standing, or physical observation in operational zones.
Work Conditions:
Work is primarily performed indoors in back-of-house areas, public spaces, and facility support zones. Conditions may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, second-hand smoke, and varying temperatures. The role requires frequent movement throughout the property to observe, support, and coordinate cleaning activities. Occasional access to storage areas, loading docks, or mechanical spaces may be required. Regular interaction with team members, vendors, and other departments is expected.

What We Do
North Fork Mono Casino & Resort is a new entertainment destination opening in Fall 2026 in Madera, California, on Highway 99. The resort will feature over 2,400 slot machines, 40 table games, and eight dining options, including two full-service restaurants and six quick-serve venues, serving as a hub for gaming and hospitality in the Central Valley.
