Job Description:
Directs staff in maintaining the standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance as established by the hospital in accordance with hospital and Joint Commission standards. Responsible for keeping management informed on the immediate condition of all areas.

- Shift: 2nd shift, working 2 weekends a month. No holidays, will be required to work on-call. This is not a remote position.
- Full Time 40 hrs/weekly
Essential Functions
- Creates schedules and manages staffing. Effectively prioritizes daily and weekly assignments to ensure the proper cleaning of hospital rooms, offices, public areas, and other areas
- Responsible for coordinating and motivating employees to ensure that assignments and designated cleaning tasks are completed in a proper and timely manner
- Inspects employee work by conducting frequent quality control inspections to ensure a safe, clean, sanitary, and attractive environment on an ongoing basis
- Performs effective rounds with patients, customers, and staff as appropriate in assigned areas
- Appropriately applies Human Resource policies and manages employee attendance, staffing, breaks, and other employee corrective action. Documents actions as appropriate. Coordinates with management and HR when significant disciplinary action or termination is needed
- Screens candidates, conducts interviews, and selects new hires
- Conducts performance evaluations for employees
- Conduct/coordinate ongoing employee training - including proper cleaning techniques, appropriate use of chemicals, policy and procedures, safety, and standard precautions.
- Provides backup for department leaders based on operational needs
- Performs cleaning duties as needed based on staffing, patient loads, and time constraints.

Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in employee development and leadership
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Ability to use basic computer and software programs such as Microsoft Suite programs and email
- Demonstrated professional experience in Environmental Services in a healthcare setting (preferred)

- Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment
- Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
