We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join our dynamic team and help evolve our SaaS platform built for the field services industry. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of key initiatives, drive payments/legacy efforts, and mentor junior and mid-level developers while delivering high-impact features.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance features on a legacy PHP codebase (PHP 5.6/8, Yii 1/2).
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand business requirements and deliver on tight timelines.
• Lead by example in writing clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
• Take deep ownership of projects—understanding dependencies, identifying risks, and thinking three steps ahead.
• Drive high-quality solutions with a focus on performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Debug and profile applications using tools like xDebug.
• Contribute to front-end development using Vue.js 2, Vuex, axios, jQuery, SCSS, and HTML.

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:

• Strong experience with PHP 5.6 - PHP 8 with strong emphasis on OOP.
• Hands-on expertise with Yii 1 and Yii 2 frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge of MySQL 8.
• Adept skills with modern JS libraries.
• Proficiency with Vue.js 2, Vuex, axios, and jQuery.
• Familiarity with SCSS, HTML, and modern build tools like Vite or Webpack (optional).
• Experience using Docker, Docker Compose, Git, and xDebug for development and debugging.
• Familiarity with upgrading PHP by several versions.

Where: The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distrbuted team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation: The target base compensation for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 CAD per year and a variable component included in most Canada locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
