We are looking for a Software Engineer to focus on our Updox communications platform. Updox is a prominent solution provider in the electronic healthcare space and offer products that include video telehealth, secure messaging, and form intake solutions.

Updox is seeking a strong Front-End Software Engineer that has familiarity with backend technologies. This person would be joining a team comprised of 3 other developers ranging from mid to staff and will help with supporting our products more tailored to the doctor community. The team is entrusted with our primary UI experience used every day by doctors and front office staff, which also is going through a process of evaluation and strategically rewriting key parts into our newer application architecture (written in React and backed by a robust component library).

Ideal candidates are excited about the challenge of understanding an existing codebase, learning new languages and technologies, and comfortable with leveraging AI code assisting technologies like CoPilot and Claude.

Responsibilities:

A Software Engineer is responsible for participating in all aspects of the Updox software development lifecycle for both new application development and existing system maintenance. These activities include but are not limited to:

  • Code/Test/Deploy Software
  • Code Reviews
  • Agile team ceremonies (Standup, Retro, Planning Meetings)
  • Release Coordination (rotation)
  • Team Quarterly Planning
  • Understanding story sizing rubric and participating is estimation sessions
  • Contributing to unit test coverage
  • Working with Escalation Engineers to help troubleshoot production challenges related to owned products

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:

  • 3-5 years of professional front-end web development such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • 3+ years of JavaScript Framework such as React, Vue, Angular, or other
  • 1+ years of style sheet solutions like Tailwind
  • 1+ years of professional Typescript experience
  • 2+ years of professional backend development with Java and/or Kotlin
  • 1+ years of professional experience with Relational Database solution such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or other
  • Proficiency with Git

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Legacy Angularjs or <>
  • Experience with Firetower
  • Sentry client monitoring solutions
  • Dynatrace APM
  • Message Broker Solutions such as RabbitMQ, Kafka
  • Key/Value Data storage i.e. Redis, Elastic, or other
  • Atlassian Proficiency i.e. Jira, Confluence, JSD/JSM
  • Spring Boot
  • OAuth Experience
  • AWS Experience

Where:  

The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States – if you are close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation:  

EverCommerce is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 USD Per Year. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all distinct labor markets in the US. EverCommerce considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
