What you'll do:The Events Manager serves as the strategic leader and operational engine behind Geotab’s marquee annual conference, Geotab Connect. In this role, you will take ownership of Geotab Connect’s production, lead high-impact executive and guest speaker management, and curate key stage agendas to align with broader business objectives. While maintaining broad governance over the event ecosystem, you will bring a hands-on, high-touch approach to executing seamless stage productions and delivering exceptional attendee experiences.
How you'll make an impact:Serve as the primary strategic leader for Geotab’s flagship conference, Geotab Connect, directing end-to-end event production, venue operations, and post-event performance analysis.
Manage vendor event budget. Handle invoicing for events and provide accurate timely budget reports.
Lead comprehensive speaker management for Geotab Connect, including executive preparation, keynote coaching, content reviews, and stage coordination for internal and external speakers.
Orchestrate cross-functional execution and alignment with PR and Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Multimedia design teams. Direct technical rehearsals, and provide real-time guidance to ensure seamless delivery.
Serve as Cvent subject matter expert, driving strategic configuration of event websites and attendee engagement tools to deliver seamless, high-touch user experiences for large-scale, high-profile audiences.
Monitor and understand industry trends, identify opportunities and provide recommended action to appropriate stakeholders, gather, integrate information/research and interpret existing views of the target audience to support the development of future events.
Maintain and build a comprehensive database of industry contacts, vendors, and venues.
Develop event-specific organizational tools such as production timelines, contact lists, on-site deliverables schedule and ensure all internal and external individuals supporting designated events/projects are in alignment.
Manage, oversee and develop relationships with external vendors and align services and production with internal company brand guidelines, budgets and strategic business goals.
Consult with stakeholders in Revenue Generation (Sales), to ensure strategic alignment of goals and provide recommendations on event-related sales activities
Actively update the company-wide global events calendar, keeping all details up to date and accurate.
Deliver programs and events to a high level standard of execution and encourage innovation and creativity in event planning and execution.
Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction to ensure retention and growth of business through repeat events and developed relationships.
8-10 years of experience in Event Management.
Cvent Certified preferred.
Salesforce experience preferred.
CMP Designation (Certified Meeting Planner) highly valued.
Degree Specialization in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is crucial when ensuring proper event execution.
Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, geographically diverse, and rapidly changing environment.
Experience with managing a budget.
Move easily between generating big, creative ideas, and driving ongoing process improvement.
Strong oral and written communication competency, with ability to influence external and internal stakeholders.
Track record of taking ownership and driving results.
Proven analytical and data decision-making capabilities and making business recommendations to drive event performance.
Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
15% - 20% Travel required for events (primarily in the US).

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data.
