Events and Community Manager EMEA
Location: Dublin or London
This is an EMEA role that will require travel to support in-person initiatives. The role is remote-based, with flexibility to utilize in-office option.
Reporting to the Head of OpenAI Academy and Forum in EMEA, we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Events and Community Manager to join the OpenAI Global Affairs team. In this role, you will oversee the programming, planning, coordination, and execution of both online and in-person events, manage content roadmaps, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute high profile engagements that serve Global Affairs priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head of Academy and Forum in EMEA in day-to-day planning and execution of Academy and Forum programming aligned with OpenAI’s regional Global Affairs priorities.
Design and execute online and in-person events across EMEA - such as, in-person trainings, webinars and panel discussions - that reflect the missions of the OpenAI Academy and Forum, also ensuring programming is culturally relevant and locally informed.
Manage timelines, guest communications, vendors, travel, and follow-ups for regional activations.
Track KPIs, participant feedback, and performance metrics, and provide regular internal reporting across initiatives.
Oversee end-to-end event strategy and execution, including programming, complex logistics, budgeting and delivery.
Manage content roadmaps - oversee the development and scheduling of online OpenAI Academy and Forum events and webinars, ensuring they meet the needs of the community and align with broader organisational objectives.
Coordinate cross-functional contributors - collaborate with internal teams, including policy, events, communications, go-to-market to ensure impactful initiatives.
Develop and execute community engagement strategies - create and implement plans to foster a vibrant online and in-person community.
Monitor and analyse community metrics - track engagement and feedback to inform continuous improvement of OpenAI Academy and Forum programming.
We're looking for:
Event production expertise - hands-on experience planning and executing both online and in-person events, from strategy and programming to on-the-ground execution.
AI enthusiast - experience working with agents to automate workflows a plus.
Comfort with tools like Figma, HubSpot.
Content strategy and coordination skills - ability to oversee content development, manage roadmaps, and ensure a consistent and engaging community experience.
Strong communication and collaboration skills - a talent for conveying ideas effectively and working cross-functionally with both internal teams and external community members.
Adaptability - the ability to navigate changing priorities while managing multiple projects with attention to detail.
Languages - fluency in English, additional EU languages a plus.
Additional responsibilities:
Responsible for building tailored event invites in HubSpot.
Own member segmentation underpinned by data-driven insights.
Own virtual and in-person event coordination including: organising event details into shared documentation, collecting speaker assets, scheduling speaker talk track, cross-functional planning calls and more.
Own all tactical workflows related to building events on the community platform hosted by Gradual.
Main POC for events coordination with Gradual: submitting requests to build events, produce live streams, create tailored ticket types for hybrid events.
Manage guest list for in-person events in collaboration with relevant teams.
In-person event support in EMEA, in all regional priority geographies. Must be willing to travel approx 25% of time.

Skills Required
- Hands-on event production experience for online and in-person events
- Comfort and experience using Figma
- Experience using HubSpot for event invites and member communications
- Experience with the Gradual community platform and event workflows
- Ability to manage complex logistics, budgeting, timelines, and vendor relationships
- Content strategy and roadmap management experience
- Experience tracking KPIs, participant feedback, and providing regular reports
- Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time (EMEA)
