Job Description SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Evendale Defense Combat Propulsion (EDCP) Controls Program Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of propulsion control systems for defense combat applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, and program management, to ensure the successful delivery of propulsion control systems projects.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership: Lead and manage the Evendale Defense Combat Propulsion Controls program, including F-Series, J85, and TF34 engines, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of propulsion control systems projects, including resource allocation, budget management, and schedule tracking. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the propulsion controls engineering team. Ensure the development and implementation of control systems meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for program-related issues. Communicate regularly with internal teams, customers, and regulatory bodies to provide updates on program status and deliverables.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program success. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance propulsion controls engineering processes and methodologies. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, program management plans, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Team Development: Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Compliance: Ensure all program activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering program management, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of propulsion control systems, sensors, actuators, software and related technologies. Proficiency in using engineering and project management tools and software.
  • Standards and Regulations: Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to propulsion control systems and defense applications.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project management, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, and risk management. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Aerospace/Defense Experience: Experience in the aerospace or defense industry, with a focus on propulsion controls engineering.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
