Government Relations Intern

SE3 Labs develops Spatial AI systems that combine advanced 3D computer vision with large language models to enable autonomous aerial systems to perceive, reason, and operate in complex physical environments.

Our technology is deployed in defence applications and contributes to strengthening European security capabilities through next-generation autonomous systems.

Our team brings together AI researchers, engineers, and repeat founders with experience at Nvidia, Tesla, McKinsey, BCGX, and First Momentum. We are backed by leading European investors, including Lakestar and Seedcamp, and have secured multi-million Euro venture funding.

As a Government Relations Intern, you will work directly with the Manager of Governmental Partnerships and Strategy to support and expand SE3’s engagement with governmental institutions across Europe.

You will contribute to strategic initiatives in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Nordics, and Ukraine. This role offers direct exposure to high-level public sector engagement in a rapidly evolving technological and geopolitical landscape.

• Strategic government engagement: Support the development and execution of country-specific engagement strategies. Conduct stakeholder mapping across ministries, procurement bodies, armed forces, and relevant EU institutions.

• Policy & regulatory analysis: Analyse national and European defence procurement frameworks, public funding instruments (e.g. EU-level innovation and defence programs), and relevant regulatory developments. Translate policy insights into actionable strategic recommendations.

• Funding support: Contribute to national and international public funding applications.

• Executive preparation: Prepare briefings, background memos, and strategic materials for senior-level meetings with public sector representatives.

• You’re enrolled in a Master’s degree in political science, international relations, public affairs, law, or a related field.

• You have gained first-hand experience within a governmental institution (e.g. federal ministry, parliament, EU body, international organisation).

• You demonstrate a strong understanding of European political institutions and defence policy landscapes.

• Native level German (C2) and English (C2) is required for the role; French is a big plus and helps you shine in a European context.

• You are proactive, structured, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.

• Prior exposure to technology policy, defence innovation, or entrepreneurial environments is a plus.

• Length: minimum of 4 months, 6 months highly preferred

• Team activities: We organize at least 2x company offsite per year. The last ones were in Italy and Greece. Next one will be in April this year!

1. Intro call (virtual, 20 minutes): This is our chance to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your background, your motivations, and why you’re interested in SE3 Labs. You’ll also learn more about our mission, the role, and the team.

2. Case study (in-person or virtual, 1 hour): You’ll receive a real-world problem to prepare during the meeting. We will be sitting together with you to see how you are approaching problems and how you are solving them. Furthermore, we are happy to answer all of your questions coming up during the interview.

3. Final call (virtual, 30 minutes): We’ll give you the final feedback about the two previous steps in the process. In case we make you an offer, we will clarify your remaining questions regarding the internship.
