Position Summary


The ETL Software Developer will create and maintain applications related to claims submission and management utilizing a Microsoft Development environment. Other duties may include ETL development, ETL monitoring and maintenance processes, and report development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain application and database code for the importing and exporting medical claims and related information.
  • Maintaining and creating high performance queries, stored procedures and other database optimizations. Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Maintain database and ETL operations daily to ensure claims flow through the system properly and timely and monitor for quality
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Work with other team members to develop processes to support ETL management and business intelligence.
  • Develop automated database applications, when possible, using the applicable database tools and/or utilizing development staff.
  • Work with Business Analysts to ensure that functions and processes meet business requirements for project completion.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 2-6 years of software development and database experience with C# .Net, SQL Server, and SSIS.
  • Experience in healthcare data and transactions (i.e. X12, HL7).
  • Experience with file operations tools such as WS_FTP and MOVEit a plus.
  • Experience with MVC Framework, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, SQL, and SSRS a plus.
  • Experience with source control systems Git, GitHub, GitHub Database projects, or other a plus.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Windows services.
  • Highly skilled with ETL development and Database design and architecture.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must have strong computer proficiency and understand how to use basic office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Special Considerations and Prerequisites

  • Complete understanding of SQL, Stored Procedures and Indexes.
  • Proficient technical experience with designing, developing and supporting database environments.
  • Understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with transforming business requirements into data processes.
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Interpret, discuss, and coordinate information with multiple teams
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
