Job Summary
The Estimation Manager is responsible for leading the estimation function for construction and infrastructure projects by managing tender submissions, preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing BOQs, and ensuring competitive and compliant bids. The role collaborates with Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, and Project teams to deliver successful tender outcomes.
- Lead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial tenders.
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and pricing strategies.
- Manage quantity take-offs and validate project cost calculations.
- Coordinate with Procurement to obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Review bid proposals to ensure compliance with client and contractual requirements.
- Support contract negotiations and project handover to execution teams.
- Monitor estimating processes and maintain historical cost databases.
- Mentor and guide the estimation team to ensure high-quality deliverables.
RequirementsQualifications
- Minimum 10 years of estimation experience, including 5 years in a managerial role, within the construction or infrastructure industry.
- Proven experience in roads, bridges, rail, tunneling, or major building projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, BOQs, tendering procedures, FIDIC contracts, and value engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, estimating software (Candy CCS, CostX, PlanSwift, or equivalent), and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
