Trueline is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead and standardize estimating operations across multiple acquired businesses in the New York and New Jersey region.
This individual will oversee a team of approximately 6-7 estimators while driving process improvement, operational consistency, and estimating excellence across the organization. The Estimating Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate project pricing, maintaining strong margins, supporting business growth, and implementing standardized estimating practices throughout the region.
This role is ideal for a construction estimating leader with experience in transportation, heavy civil, infrastructure, public works, or DOT-related construction who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and contributing to the growth of a rapidly expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 6-7 estimators
- Standardize estimating practices across multiple operating locations and acquired businesses
- Oversee project takeoffs, cost estimates, bid preparation, and proposal submissions
- Ensure all bids are completed accurately, competitively, and in compliance with DOT and public agency requirements
- Implement and improve estimating systems, workflows, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with operations, project management, and executive leadership teams
- Support strategic growth initiatives and future acquisition integrations
- Monitor estimating performance, bid success rates, margins, and key operational metrics
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Build strong internal relationships across estimating, operations, procurement, and field teams
- 7+ years of construction estimating experience
- Previous leadership or management experience overseeing estimators or estimating teams
- Experience estimating DOT, transportation, infrastructure, public works, or heavy civil projects
- Strong understanding of bid preparation, public procurement, and competitive bidding processes
- Experience developing or improving estimating processes and procedures
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work onsite in Folsom, NJ
- Guardrail, highway safety, roadway, or transportation infrastructure experience
- Heavy civil or site development estimating background
- Experience integrating multiple teams, systems, or acquired operations
- Strong business acumen and KPI-driven management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or related field
- MBA or advanced leadership training a plus
- Base Salary: $130,000 – $180,000
