Environmental health professionals conducting field assessments or (developing and) executing health and safety programs to prevent injuries or health impairment and to prevent and resolve environmental problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with site ESH on all ESHS activities to increase working knowledge of site needs and work requirements. Be present in the field daily and directly support plant activities.
- Support and Improve the site Environmental, Safety, Health, Security (ESHS) programs.
- Provide ESHS direction and support to employees in identifying and evaluating potential hazards and regulatory compliance by proactively maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations.
- Support external and internal ESHS reporting requirements in a timely and complete manner.
- Support all documents regarding ESHS permitting, reporting and compliance with state and federal agencies.
- Support and coordinate Business Management System which includes: ISO 9001, RC 14001 and FAMI-QS.
- Manage the occupational health, respiratory, hearing conservation and site industrial hygiene programs.
- Manage and maintain an ESH training plan for all site personnel and manage training records.
- Manage document control system (currently OpenText).
- Implement, manage and maintain Ergonomics program.
- Participate in activities of related professional organizations (NSC, LEPC, NICE, etc).
- Develop, coordinate, manage and maintain ESHS Committees.
- Develop, schedule, coordinate and/or conduct training for company programs.
- Participate in training/ certifications as required to develop and/or maintain ESHS expertise.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in ESHS or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in related area; or a minimum of 10 years of experience in production, industrial setting or similar process with EHS experience preferred.
- Proven ability to understand processes and fundamental technical concepts.
- Proven track record of positive behavior aspects in the areas of safety, environment and health.
- Working knowledge of applicable ESH regulations and ISO/RC systems.
- Leadership presence with ability to act as Incident Commander during emergency situations or confidently address observed EHS concerns on the spot.
- Affectively lead meetings (i.e. NCR, MOC, PSSR, etc.)
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
- Excellent Problem-Solving Skills.
- Must be able to fill role of EHS Manager.
