Role Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic ESG & Procurement Intern to join our team and support a high-impact project focused on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Procurement team to classify vendors, leverage AI tools, and contribute to strategic commercial activities that shape how we do business.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in ESG, procurement operations, and the application of AI in real-world scenarios.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Medirect Procurement on an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) project, focusing on the classification of vendors within internal databases
• Engage directly with vendors to collect completed ESG questionnaires
• Utilise AI tools (training provided) to assess and analyse vendor ESG profiles
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Vendor Contracts Database, including vendor classification activities
• Assist the Head of Procurement with vendor research in preparation for major commercial negotiations
Required knowledge, skills and experience:
• A strong interest in ESG, sustainability, and ethical supply chain practices
• Eagerness to learn and apply AI tools in a business context
• Good communication skills, especially in engaging with external stakeholders
• Detail-oriented and organized, with basic analytical skills
• Comfort working with team members who are remote and located in different geographies
