Your Role: SME - Vistex Customer & O2C

The primary focus of this position is partnering with key stakeholders, architects, business process owners and delivery partners to ensure timely delivery of compliant, high-quality solutions across Vistex DMR – Customer and SAP Order-to-Cash (O2C). The role translates business requirements for customer master data governance, sales order management, pricing, delivery and billing into scalable functional solutions, ensuring system integrity, compliance and alignment with the global ERP architecture.

Your Responsibilities:

Operations/System Stewardship (20%)

• Maintain the stability and integrity of Vistex DMR – Customer and SAP O2C solutions, covering customer master data, sales order processing, pricing, delivery and billing.
•  Provide ongoing functional support and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and reduction of recurring issues.
• Support release management for changes impacting Customer DMR and O2C, including impact assessments, regression testing and production readiness.
• Ensure all changes and enhancements meet applicable GxP, SOX and Elanco quality requirements.
• Partner with AMS and delivery teams to prioritise and resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Engage with Product Managers, Global Business Process Owners and stakeholders to translate business priorities into Customer DMR and O2C solution requirements.
• Provide functional guidance on customer master governance and downstream O2C processes, coordinating complex technical issues with the Tech Lead, Architect and development teams.
• Provide effort estimates, impact assessments and solution recommendations for enhancement requests.
• Maintain support documentation and ensure effective knowledge transfer to business users and AMS support teams.

Technical SME (80%)

• Act as the primary SME for Vistex DMR – Customer projects, enhancements and initiatives, and as a secondary SME for SAP O2C, supporting assigned activities and providing backup coverage.
• Partner with business stakeholders, architects and delivery teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective functional and technical solutions.
• Build and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Vistex DMR customer functionality, including customer master data, request workflows, approvals, validation rules and data governance controls.
• Design and implement Vistex DMR – Customer solutions that integrate effectively with SAP S/4HANA customer master data and downstream O2C processes.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of Vistex DMR – Customer initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, development coordination, testing, UAT, deployment and post-go-live support.
• Support assigned O2C enhancements and issue resolution across sales order management, pricing, delivery and billing, working with the primary O2C SME and Tech Lead.
• Ensure solutions align with global SAP/Vistex architecture, standards and business process requirements.
• Provide functional guidance, effort estimates and impact assessments for Vistex DMR requirements, and contribute to assessments for assigned O2C changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer data quality, user experience, process efficiency, automation and system functionality.
• Lead formal testing, change documentation and production support handover for Vistex DMR initiatives, and support these activities for assigned O2C changes.
• Track implementation timelines and proactively communicate risks, dependencies and issues to stakeholders.
• Act as the functional escalation point for complex Vistex DMR – Customer issues, leading root-cause analysis and coordinating technical resolution with development and support teams.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Vistex DMR and relevant S/4HANA capabilities, together with working knowledge of O2C processes and their dependencies on customer master data.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer to business stakeholders, process owners and AMS support teams, supported by clear solution and troubleshooting documentation.
• Participate in architecture and solution reviews and recommend scalable, sustainable solutions in collaboration with Tech Lead and Architect.
• Stay current with relevant developments in Vistex DMR and SAP S/4HANA and evaluate opportunities to improve business functionality and user experience.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, Information Technology or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant SAP functional experience, including hands-on configuration, design and support of Vistex DMR – Customer solutions.
• Strong knowledge of customer master data processes, governance, request workflows, approval routing, validation rules and integration with SAP S/4HANA.
• Working knowledge of SAP O2C processes, including sales order management, pricing, delivery and billing, with the ability to support assigned enhancements, troubleshooting and testing as a secondary SME.
• Experience working across complex business, technology and partner environments, with an understanding of applicable quality and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement in assessing solution options, risks and dependencies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex requirements clearly and present well-structured, evidence-based recommendations.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), particularly Customer or Business Partner data governance, workflows, validations and data quality controls, is an added advantage.
• Experience in global SAP ERP implementations or support within life sciences, pharmaceutical or animal health environments, including SOX/GxP requirements.
• Experience working with AMS providers and delivery partners, with knowledge of ITIL incident, problem and change management processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical or animal health commercial and distribution environments.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments and provide data-informed solutions to complex problem.
