OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
This Global Subchapter Lead role is a key leadership team member located onsite within Takeda's Innovation Capability Centre in Bangalore reporting to the Global Chapter Lead. The center executes the delivery of solutions via a product driven organization. IT technology center safeguards organization-wide standards and technology building blocks and collaborates with Business Technology Analysts (BTA's) and Product Owners (POs) on execution of delivery. Responsibilities of the role:

  • Builds ERP SAP team in India (helps with identification of necessary roles, supports job descriptions definitions and hiring process, oversees onboarding)


  • Ensures high working morale and efficient work of team and low fluctuation in the team


  • Ensures cooperation of ERP team in India with other teams within and outside of ERP chapter


  • Provides leadership to his/her team of chapter members and provide expertise and consultancy to the allocated business functions and to his chapter to meet global demand (in an agile or waterfall way).


  • Monitor and manage the technical implementation of initiatives coming from Takeda, takes the lead on the readiness of the software development for the organization, whilst managing the workload and building appropriate skills and capabilities of the chapter members fitting to the organizational demand.


  • Manage the workload, the development of chapter members and focus on the constant visibility within the platform or business focus of the chapter in alignment with the global chapter lead. This could involve developments or partnering with parts of organization to promote the chapter activities.


ACCOUNTABILITIES
Resource Allocation and Staffing

  • Collaborate with the Global Chapter lead and Global Subchapter Leads and Workstream leads to staff Subchapter members


  • Collaborates with the Global Chapter Lead and technical leads to understand business problems, products to ensure results whilst monitoring skill and capabilities developments


  • Manage resource constraints for Subchapter members across the internal teams, and procure flex resources where appropriate


  • Establish and maintains open and clear lines of team communication to facilitate status transparency


  • Assess and balance the resourcing needs with Subchapter member's development goals


Subchapter Development

  • Work closely with the Global chapter lead and other ERP Global Subchapter Leads and Stream leads within the chapter to provide the vision and lead the Subchapter capabilities build-out.


  • Cooperate closely with other Global Subchapter Leads within the chapter to ensure consistency in the procedures chapter wide.


  • Clearly define different Subchapter capabilities, with a harmonized set of roles and skills


  • Lead the Subchapter as an experienced practitioner and be a role model to the members.


  • Identify Subchapter members to serve as leaders who help provide training and oversight for their people management responsibilities.


  • Manage escalations, risks and issues related to the services delivered.


Talent Development

  • Works with HR to define roles, recruit top talent, conduct candidate interviews, and onboard new chapter members


  • Track the progress of each individual toward completion of the training curriculum


  • Set targets for development, growth and completes final assessment of Subchapter members in professional development, in alignment with the technical capability lead.


  • Lead talent development and retention initiatives, including provisioning of training, sharing of best practices, and initiatives to promote a culture of continuous improvement.


Performance Evaluations

  • Oversee collection of formative and evaluative feedback for each Subchapter member from their network of professional connections


  • Oversee delivery of performance evaluations for Subchapter members, factoring in individual contributions and collective team performance


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Essential

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent


  • Primary location to be located onsite In Takeda Bangalore office in India


  • Minimal 6 or more years of experience in building and managing engineering teams


  • Excellent written and verbal English skills with ability to clearly present ideas


Desirable

  • Experience in a fast-paced Agile environment is a plus.


  • Passionate about change and continuous improvement; willing to challenge status quo and dissent when needed, and not afraid to point out areas of development.


  • A track record of success in developing technology leaders and staff.


  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Highly collaborative working style, strong interpersonal capabilities and relationship building; proven ability to manage diverse client and stakeholder relationships, and to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues.


  • Excellent ability to facilitate discussions around complex issues and bring them to resolution


  • Project/Program management experience of SAP ERP implementations


  • Line manager with experience of building a new team of 30+ people from scratch (preferably in SAP ERP)
