We are seeking an Associate to join the China/HK Financial Institutions equity research team and will play an integral role in supporting the team's research franchise. The role involves financial modelling, sector and company analysis, and client engagement, contributing to differentiated, high-quality research output.

Responsibilities include 

  • Support team's coverage across the sector- banks, insurance, and diversified financials.
  • Maintain models and database, retrieve and analyze information from company filings and external data source.
  • Monitor company announcements, industry news flow, macro, and policy developments closely.
  • Conduct fundamental research on listed companies, including financial analysis, earning forecasting, valuation, and investment recommendation.
  • Draft timely company updates and high-quality research reports on industry developments and long-term thematic trends.
  • Contribute to franchise-building initiatives through thematic projects and regional collaborations.
  • Respond promptly to requests for data, analysis, financial models, and bespoke research.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 year of relevant experience in sell-side or buyside equity research.
  • Experience in FIG sector is preferred.
  • Strong attentive to details and great ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in timely manner.
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills, with the ability to analyze financial trends, business landscape, and industry dynamics.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluency in English required; Mandarin is a plus given regional corporate and client interaction.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative team player with intellectual curiosity, sound business judgement, and interest in financial markets and equity investing.
