The Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Investment Banking Senior Associate / Associate is an intermediate level position responsible for advising clients on raising funds in the equity capital markets, through IPO, Follow-on, Convertible, and Private Placement offerings in coordination with the Investment Banking team. Additional responsibilities include advising and structuring non-capital raising strategic assignments, such as spin-offs and split-offs. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by facilitating equity capital formation.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Head of Growth Equity for North America ECM in San Francisco, alongside the growth Investment Banking coverage teams
- Partner with internal team members (ECM, Corporate & Investment Banking, Risk, Legal, Operations) and external partners (Investors, External Counsel) to guide clients through the equity capital raising process and execution of an offering from launch to close
- Conduct in-depth technical, economic and statistical analysis on equity market data (such as deal volume, pricing and tenor) to identify market and industry trends
- Create pitches, deliverables, and discussion materials for client meetings based on in-depth analysis of client’s existing financial instruments and condition and the market environment
- Evaluate company’s financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience
- Experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically within Investment Banking
- Independent, self-motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic environment while effectively collaborating with a team across different time zones
- Desire and ability to thrive in fast paced environment with short deadlines and real-time market interaction
- Strong and genuine interest in technology and emerging growth industries
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Series 7, 79 and 63 preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree
- Degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration
