A long-only, multi-billion dollar mid-cap equity fund is looking for an experienced analyst to join a small team of generalist investment professionals committed to rigorous, research-driven investing.
The strategy seeks to outperform by incorporating a long-term perspective and investing in companies with resilient cash flow streams, attractive reinvestment opportunities and aligned management teams. The portfolio is concentrated and turnover is low. Analysts on the team cover multiple sectors and are expected to deeply understand various business models and industry competitive dynamics.
Candidate should have; 1) a high degree of intellectual curiosity, 2) strong technical skills, 3) a self-starter attitude and 4) a demonstrated ability to use primary and secondary data sources to investigate investment opportunities.
Responsibilities
The research analyst’s continuous and disciplined involvement in the research process is critical in this role. The analyst should be capable of having a voice in the portfolio construction process and ownership of investment performance.
The research analyst is expected to be capable in the following areas:
- Building and maintaining detailed financial models including proprietary forecasts and valuation-based screening capabilities
- Analyzing fundamental performance of a variety of companies and industry sectors and sharing investment insights
- Engaging with management teams, consultants, analysts and industry experts
- Preparing research reports on companies owned or under consideration for purchase
- Working with team members to gather corresponding data to be able to prepare, update, and maintain internal and external presentation materials
Qualifications
Basic:
- Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in buy-side or sell-side equity research or related field
- Excellent quantitative, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to multi-task, work independently and with/across teams
Preferred:
- Demonstrated successful investment track record
- MBA and/or CFA
The base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $210,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
