The Equipment Services Manager is responsible for leading the operation that maintains, repairs, inventories, and deploys Butler's fleet of Roof Runner® seaming equipment used to install MR-24® roofing systems across North America. This role oversees a team of technicians, manages inventory and equipment assets, coordinates shipping and receiving activities, administers ERP transactions, and provides exceptional support to builders and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing operations, inventory management, logistics, or equipment service environments and is passionate about leading people and driving operational excellence.
Job Duties
- Lead and develop a team of 4-5 technicians responsible for equipment inspection, maintenance, repair, and deployment.
- Ensure safe operations and provide ongoing safety training and compliance oversight.
- Manage Butler's Roof Runner® equipment fleet, including preventative maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and equipment readiness.
- Oversee equipment leasing activities, order processing, and customer support for builders utilizing Roof Runner equipment.
- Manage inventory levels for equipment, spare parts, and maintenance components using Compass, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including equipment deployment, returns, and transportation logistics.
- Manage departmental budgets related to maintenance, repairs, inventory, and operating expenses.
- Generate purchase orders, process transactions, and maintain accurate equipment and inventory records.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for builders and internal teams, ensuring a high level of customer service and responsiveness.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, organization, and overall operational performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Minimum:
2-years metal building experience
1-year management experience
Knowledge of Compass
Knowledge of Microsoft office and Excel work book
Competent with Compass and order processing
Preferred:
2 or 4-year technical degree
Mechanical experience
Butler Product knowledge
Machine shop experience
