Position Overview
Location & Work Environment
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner, making corrective configuration or enhancements as needed
- Work closely with Patient Access users to design, build, and improve scheduling, registration, admission, authorization, and patient throughput workflows
- Lead medium to large complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or workflow enhancements, including design, build, and test phases
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Epic Patient Access modules and workflows
- Participate in design and validation sessions, ensuring appropriate documentation, follow-up, and issue escalation
- Identify system optimization and enhancement opportunities, collaborating with vendors and IT analysts to design and implement effective solutions
- Configure and build visit types, work queues, registration forms, referral templates, and provider records
- Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Support application incidents reported through the help desk, including 24/7 on-call coverage as required
- Work with trainers to develop and maintain application-specific training curriculum and materials
- Mentor team members on Epic functionality, workflows, documentation, best practices, and change management
- Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements through final implementation
- Troubleshoot and/or resolve application issues, escalating more complex issues as appropriate
- Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
- Develop strong relationships with end-user communities, customers, and business partners
- Attend, participate in, and contribute to meetings throughout the facility

- 4+ years healthcare experience
- Active/current Epic certification in Cadence
- 4+ years of direct client healthcare domain knowledge, such as patient flow, scheduling, registration, Real Time Eligibility, and Insurance Verification
- 4+ years of Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in relevant applications
- Decision Tree experience
Preferred Skills
- 2+ years of demonstrated team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication, and leadership skills
- Active/current Epic certification in Prelude or Referrals
- Completed Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges
- 4+ years of knowledge in policies and procedures related to operational functions
