This is a part-time, hourly position.
Example of Duties:
- Schedule and attend 1-1 in-person and virtual sessions with assigned mentees.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students to provide academic support.
- Connect mentees with campus academic resources and help grow their awareness of opportunities, policies, and support services.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and events.
- Document mentor/mentee correspondence.
- Correspond with PCCC program staff regarding mentee concerns and/or progress.
- Provide support for PCCC programming and recruitment events as necessary.
- Represent PCCC in a positive, appropriate and professional manner.
- Participate in orientation, training, professional development workshops, and other
meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Possess and maintain at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA
- Has successfully completed at least two full-time semesters at PCCC
- Willingness to commit to at least one year as a mentor
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and maintain effective work
relationships - Ability to initiate and sustain consistent interaction with mentees
- Strong organizational skills and capability to complete paperwork in a timely manner
- Demonstrate sensitivity when working with a diverse group of participants
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and comfort with speaking publicly
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $15.92.
