The Environmental Manager leads local environmental compliance, sustainability, and outreach efforts including the development and implementation of programs and objectives and day-to-day hands-on support for environmental initiatives.
The position is an onsite position and requires 25% - 30% of work time out in the process area and facility grounds.
The Environmental Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and other environmental requirements:

Implement, maintain, monitor, analyze, report, and improve Tate & Lyle’s environmental compliance and sustainability programs at the facility

Write and timely submit environmental compliance reports and stack testing.

Orchestrate environmental permit modifications & renewals

Manage, maintain, and improve environmental compliance assurance system

Maintain an in-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and trends

Lead and/or participate in regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and requirements of the Environmental Management System

Identify environmental risks, reviews and advises risk impact assessments, and develops programs to eliminate and reduce identified environmental risks

Develop and drive performance against annual environmental sustainability targets to continuously minimize the plant’s environmental footprint

Investigate all environmental events, ensure implementation of corrective and preventative actions, inform interested parties

Serve as project manager or technical expert on environmental impact projects including sustainability, compliance, efficiency, remediation, and reclamation

Conduct training needs analysis, develops and present environmental training

Ensure Element Owner and worker understanding of the environmental aspects of the J2EE and the Management System

Engage employees in environmental improvement by organizing and leading an environmental

As a strategic role and site environmental professional, the incumbent is responsible for:
- Preparing and implementing EHSQS Management Systems (J2EE)
- Reviewing environmental performance to ensure company objectives and expectations are met.
- Involving all employees in the relevant environmental plans for activities and services
- Assessing the existence and effectiveness of environmental plans through appropriate audits and reviews
Skills and experience required:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or Science, or other related field.

5 years of environmental working experience in heavy manufacturing or construction environment.

Experience demonstrating measurable results in continuous improvement of environmental compliance and environmental culture

Demonstrated ability to understand environmental legal requirements

Experience with implementation of ISO 14001

Metrics- and performance driven

Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Experience auditing compliance performance and EHS management systems
