ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will independently perform advanced environmental assessments and analyses, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Your key responsibilities will include conducting thorough environmental audits, identifying potential environmental risks, and developing innovative, sustainable solutions to minimize our environmental impact. You will lead efforts in fostering environmental excellence, streamlining compliance efforts, and driving continuous improvement. Additionally, you will maintain accurate environmental records in accordance with legal and internal standards, coordinate environmental training programs, and lead projects that support our organization's commitment to environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive environmental audits at operating facilities to identify environmental risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions to enhance sustainability and environmental performance.
  • Continuously improve environmental audit programs and environmental management systems.
  • Provide input and expertise in the development of environmental policies and best practices.
  • Monitor, analyze, and advise on new environmental regulations and their impact on Greif’s operations.
  • Develop and implement sustainability programs aimed at reducing environmental impact, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water conservation initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental training sessions at corporate and facility levels.
  • Track and analyze key environmental metrics and report progress on sustainability goals.
  • Ensure compliance with both internal and external environmental reporting requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company’s environmental initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify environmental risks and recognize processes that impact resource use and emissions.
  • Analytical approach to solving complex environmental challenges.
  • Experienced in training and coaching colleagues on environmental practices and sustainability initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental reporting software.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $ 90,000.00 to $ 110,000.00 per year. The base pay offered for this position may vary based on market data and other factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may be eligible for a short-term incentive in addition to base pay.
