About the role

The primary purpose of an Environmental Specialist is to ensure that project activities comply with environmental standards and safeguards. They monitor and manage environmental impacts, provide guidance on mitigation measures, and support sustainable project implementation
Job Responsibilities

  • Review and confirm project designs to ensure environmental compliance and address potential environmental impacts before construction

  • Monitor contractor compliance with environmental management plans, permits, and ADB safeguards, and implement mitigation measures as needed

  • Track environmental performance indicators and prepare project completion reports documenting compliance, impacts, and outcomes

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or science, post graduate degree preferred

  • Conducting environmental assessments and impact mitigation.

  • Implementing and monitoring Environmental Management Plans (EMP)

  • Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and safeguard policies
