About the Team:
Are you passionate about creating stunning environment art for video games? Insomniac Games is looking for an enthusiastic Environment Artist Intern who is eager to learn and grow in a career focused on environment art. This is your chance to dive into all aspects of creating high-quality and creative assets while exploring production methods that enhance both performance and efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Work alongside experienced developers and contribute directly to the creation of world-renowned games.
- Participate in team meetings, sharing your insights and ideas.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure they are completed on time.
- Communicate effectively with team members and seek guidance when needed.
- Continuously develop your skills through self-directed learning and mentorship from our environment and art teams.
What We're Looking For:
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., Art – Props, Environment Art, Design).
- Basic understanding of game development, including knowledge of game engines and associated software.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills.
- Understanding of composition principles and art content creation.
- Open to receiving feedback and comfortable providing constructive critiques as well.
Eligibility:
- Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
- Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
- Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
- Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
