Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to be based in Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with and take directions from mechanical engineering staff.
  • Assist with the design of building mechanical systems including airside, hydronics, and plumbing.
  • Perform basic mechanical design calculations and standard computations such as heating/cooling loads, pipe sizing, duct sizing, and equipment sizing.
  • Prepare drawings using Autodesk Revit.
  • Be self-motivated with strong work ethic.
  • Take pride in and ownership of your work.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in the use of Revit.
  • Experience with building HVAC systems including but not limited to chilled water, hot water, condenser water, and air-side systems.
  • Comfortable working in a high energy environment with frequent swift deadlines.
  • Experience with sustainable design and building energy modeling.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Virginia Beach, VA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Virginia Beach, VA on a scheduled basis.
