Legal Assistant / E-Filing Specialist
Entry-Level Opportunity with a New Jersey Creditors’ Rights Law Firm
A well-established New Jersey creditors’ rights law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant / E-Filing Specialist to join its legal team.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable with technology, and interested in building a career in the legal field. Prior law firm experience is helpful, but not required. Training will be provided.
The position offers direct exposure to legal documents, court filing procedures, case management systems, and the day-to-day operations of a busy law firm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit legal documents through New Jersey electronic court filing systems
- Review documents for accuracy, completeness, signatures, formatting, and proper filing information
- Confirm that documents are filed under the correct case and document type
- Monitor filing confirmations, rejections, and court notices
- Correct and resubmit rejected filings when necessary
- Save filed documents and confirmations in the firm’s case management system
- Update case records, deadlines, and internal notes
- Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff regarding filing issues
- Assist with document preparation and other legal support responsibilities
- Help ensure that time-sensitive filings are completed accurately and on schedule

Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working in a digital document management system
- Ability to conduct compliance searches (SCRA, PACER, public records)
- Prior experience with e-filing platforms such as eCourts, JEDS, and PACER
- Knowledge of compliance procedures in foreclosure litigation
- Legal support or law firm experience
- Professionalism and commitment to learning; willingness to be trained
