EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level DSP Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. The position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Design, simulate, implement, and test digital signal processing-based modems for satellite communications systems
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Completed classes in digital communications theory (e.g. modulation, synchronization, FEC encoding)
- Completed classes in digital signal processing theory (e.g. sampling, frequency estimation, filtering)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- An understanding of satellite communications systems and protocols (e.g. link budgets, TDMA, TDM, CDMA, SCPC, DVBS2)
- Experience simulating and modeling communications and DSP algorithms using C++/C
- Familiarity with MATLAB, System View, or similar tools
- Knowledge and understanding of digital hardware, FPGA design, and UVM verification techniques
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00
