EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Baseband Hardware Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position would be located in our San Diego, CA office .
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop innovative technical hardware solutions for satellite and terrestrial IP-based communications systems in the areas such as digital high-speed PWB board design involving state of the art electronics circuit, high speed FPGA board design, switching power supply circuit for portable and fixed satellite terminals.
- Propose and implement hardware design based on product requirements.
- Involve selection and lab testing of components for product. Evaluate components using high speed oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generator etc.
- Perform schematic capture, high speed signal integrity and power integrity analysis using CAD design software.
- Participate in high density printed circuit board layout and design review.
- Design verification testing of prototypes, composing test documentation and product failure analysis.
- Design satellite modem functions inside FPGA using Verilog HDL language. Perform verification using Cadence simulation tool and FPGA vendor synthesis tool
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
- Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and function generator.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Effective oral and written communication.
The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $65,500.00 - $82,000.00
