We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to work across Application Development, Service Delivery, and Infrastructure to identify, research, discuss, design, and implement key architecture standards. This position will be a full-time contract and hybrid in Trenton, NJ.
What You’ll Do
The individual in this role will require a combination of deep technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills, requiring someone who can think strategically while understanding the practical implications of architectural decisions across the entire organization.
Designing integration strategies for disparate systems, applications, and data sources across the enterprise
Establishing common interfaces, architecture principles, data standards, and best practices
Supporting senior management on complex technology initiatives and investment decisions
Creating an architecture review process to evaluate proposed solutions against standards and strategic objectives
Collaborating with the security team to ensure solutions meet organizational and regulatory requirements
What You’ll Need
Required:
Ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty, weigh multiple factors/constraints, and consider long-term implications of architectural choices
Knowledge of electronic data processing platforms and software
Knowledge of database/data dictionary systems and applications
Knowledge of application portfolio management, software design patterns, application integration, legacy system modernization, and application lifecycle management
Knowledge of data modeling, data governance, master data management, data warehousing, analytics platforms, and data quality frameworks
Knowledge of infrastructure components, platforms, development tools, middleware, and technology standards (on-prem and cloud-based tech stacks)
Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and informative reports/documentation on database systems, including creation/maintenance of data dictionary documentation
Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders at all levels
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with various levels of personnel
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to maintain essential records and files
Ability to learn how to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position
Experience in government or regulatory environments
Preferred:
TOGAF Certification, Certified Enterprise Architect, or similar recognized credentials
AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certifications
Multi-cloud experience (particularly valuable)
Proven track record leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives, cloud migrations, or enterprise modernization programs from start to finish
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software development lifecycle practices
Comfort presenting to executive leadership, board members, or external stakeholders
Ability to communicate complex technical strategies in business terms
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$106p/h - $113p/hThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access.
