About the Role

Join the University of Wollongong as an Enterprise Security Architect on a 15-month fixed-term contract and play a leading role in shaping the University's cyber security future.

This is an opportunity to influence major security initiatives across cyber uplift, identity and access management, cloud transformation and enterprise technology programs. Working closely with senior leaders, architects and technology teams, you'll provide strategic security architecture leadership, establish security design principles and ensure technology solutions are secure, resilient and aligned with industry best practice.

About the Team

You'll be joining a collaborative team of cyber security professionals, architects, engineers and technology leaders who are driving a significant program of digital and cyber transformation across the University.

The team works across a diverse technology landscape, supporting teaching, research and business operations while delivering strategic initiatives that strengthen security, improve governance and enable innovation. With major investment in cyber security, cloud services, identity management and data capabilities, this is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile enterprise programs that have a lasting impact across the organisation.

What You’ll Bring

• Enterprise Security Architecture experience in a large, complex environment 
• Strong expertise across Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and cloud security 
• Experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM), PAM and Zero Trust principles 
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, Essential Eight and security governance frameworks 
• Proven experience designing secure enterprise and cloud-based solutions 
• Ability to lead security architecture reviews and influence technology decisions 
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes 
• Relevant cyber security qualifications and certifications (e.g. CISSP, TOGAF, SABSA) highly regarded 
• Experience securing enterprise applications, integrations, APIs and data platforms 
• Knowledge of security technologies including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management and security monitoring solutions
