Con Edisons Enterprise Risk Management team plays a critical role in helping the company anticipate, assess, and respond to the risks and opportunities that shape its future. As a Project Specialist, you will partner with leaders across the business to strengthen risk practices, support high-impact decision-making, and contribute to strategic initiatives that advance companywide goals.
This role is ideal for a collaborative, highly organized professional who can build trusted relationships, synthesize complex information, and drive work forward across multiple stakeholders. You will gain broad exposure to Con Edisons operations, work directly with senior leaders, and support materials and discussions that inform executive and Board-level oversight.
ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities- Train, influence, and marshal risk leaders and responsible risk officers across all of Con Edisons businesses.
- Participate in ERM conferences and in benchmarking activities to stay abreast of developments in ERM best practices and employ learnings to evolve the Companys ERM framework.
- Facilitate annual and quarterly meetings with risk leaders and senior management to assess and monitor existing corporate and department risks.
- Run risk workshops and guide risk leaders through annual risk assessment activities.
- Facilitate discussions with business leaders to identify emerging trends, challenges, opportunities, and business risks that may impact company objectives.
- Participate in the preparation and documentation of department risk portfolios, including risk profiles, assessments, and other information for each department.
- Compile and track quantitative metrics related to risk management and generate associated reports and action plans.
- Help prepare materials for ERM meetings with risk leaders from across the organization.
- Provide support in the preparation of ERM presentations to the Board and its Audit Committee, the ERM Steering and Corporate Risk Committees, the New York State Department of Public Service staff.
- Track emerging risks, threats and opportunities and develop associated reports and action plans to address.
- Bachelor's Degree in project management, operations, regulatory affairs, auditing, compliance, strategic planning, data analytics, consulting, or related disciplines and 5 years of related work experience. or
- Master's Degree and 3 years of related work experience.
- Experience within utility operations, energy, financial services, risk management, engineering, regulatory affairs, compliance, audit, data analytics or consulting sectors, preferred.
- Experience working with teams of people across various functions and disciplines, required.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases and other standard applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel and Word), required.
- Flexibility to adapt to a new and changing environment, required.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks, required.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Develops and delivers effective presentations
- Ability to lead/manage others
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
- Driver's License Required
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
