How You Will Contribute:
Reporting under Director, Enterprise Integration, API and Automation, as Integration Architect you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing robust integration solutions that seamlessly connect various internal and external systems and applications to meet our business requirements. You will be involved in close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, and other architects to ensure that integration strategies align with business objectives and are executed efficiently. You will develop and maintain the application integration architecture blueprint for Ciena.
- Architect and Design: Create and implement integration solutions that connect various systems and applications within and outside the organization, leveraging technologies such as Mulesoft, Oracle Integration Cloud, and API Management Solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and other architects to ensure that integration strategies align with business objectives. Coordinate with development and delivery teams to ensure efficient and effective implementation of integration solutions.
- Requirements Analysis: Analyze business requirements and design integration solutions that meet those requirements. Coordinate with IT, customers, and suppliers to architect and implement comprehensive end-to-end integration solutions.
- Hybrid Integration Platform: Actively participate in implementing a Hybrid Integration Platform through initiatives like B2B iPaaS, Cloud MFT, API Developer Portal, and Intelligent API Security.
- Best Practices: Oversee and champion integration best practices and patterns, API-led design, and coordinate the Integration Center of Excellence (COE).
- Cross-Disciplinary Partnership: Partner with leaders of other disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business, and security architectures.
- Technology Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest integration technologies and trends, making recommendations for future investments.
The Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 7 years in enterprise integration architecture.
- Strong understanding of various integration patterns and related protocols/standards such as SOA, REST, and messaging.
- Experience with integration platforms such as Mulesoft, Dell Boomi, Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle SOA or IBM Integration Bus.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with high discretion/judgment in decision-making.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills, including negotiating and relationship management skills, with the ability to drive achievement of objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in architecting and designing large-scale, fault-tolerant, reliable, and scalable enterprise integrations and APIs.
- Experience with Continuous Integration practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery, and regression testing of commercial software.
Technology:
- Strong experience in Integration Architecture, Web Services, API Architectures, and API-Driven Development.
- Excellent knowledge of integration architecture, related design standards, and best practices.
- API Lifecycle & Management experience: Specification, Design, Development, Security, and Governance.
- Experience leveraging EA tools like LeanIX for documenting integrations and interfaces.
- Proficiency with OIC, Mulesoft and/or Oracle SOA ecosystems is a plus.
- Familiarity with B2B Standards: EDI, EDIFACT, cXML, RosettaNet.
- Programming Languages: Experience in Java or Python is a plus.
Assets:
- Knowledge of telecommunication and networking technologies is a plus.
- Good understanding of end-to-end enterprise processes, such as:
- Quote to Cash
- Recruit to Retire
- Procure to Pay
- Working knowledge of business processes on Customer and Supplier sides, including:
- Purchase Orders
- PO Confirmations
- Ship Notices
- Invoices

Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this position in US is $127,100 - $203,000.
The annual pay range for this position in Canada is CAD 111,700 - CAD 178,400.
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
