OverviewEnterprise Infrastructure EngineerResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
- Manage, maintain, and provide engineering and administrative support for enterprise backup/recovery solutions and VMware environments
- Ensure applications and systems meet business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) requirements
- Manage data retention lifecycle for compliance and archival storage of data
- Responsible for hardware associated with enterprise backup/recovery solutions
- Responsible for server hardware associated with VMware environments
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and operate tactical plans that align with management-defined strategies to meet corporate, divisional, and team goals
- Implement and maintain backup policies, schedules, and standards
- Plan and execute proactive and reactive BC/DR activities
- Interact with customers to understand and deliver data protection solutions that meet their requirements
- Create documentation related to backup/recovery solutions
- VMware administration includes build, deploy, and patch management
Qualifications:
- 7+ years’ experience supporting data protection programs and technologies
- Minimum 2 years' experience supporting VMware programs and technologies
- Ability to establish and maintain data protection architecture, policies, procedures, and schedules
- Ability to troubleshoot networks and perform VMware system administration
- Prior experience managing BC/DR program or participation in related activities
- Demonstrated skills in decision making/judgement and initiative
- Possess interpersonal skills and organizational savvy
- English (reading, writing and speaking)
Optional Desired Qualifications:
- Global infrastructure support preferred experience
- Exposure to system administration, engineering, or scripting/programming desired
- Exposure to other facets of IT helpful
- Exposure to Cohesity backup solutions and Proxmox VE is helpful
- Knowledge of PCI requirements and controls desired
- Knowledge of Office 365/MS Teams/MS Notes desired
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- ITIL certification is preferred
- VMware certification is desired but not required
