Leidos Digital Modernization team is currently seeking a motivated Enterprise Domain Services (DNS) Engineer with proven experience to join the AFINC II contract supporting the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26NOS) team in Montgomery, AL. We are seeking an individual for information system administration with strong cybersecurity knowledge. This position is 100% onsite at customer site at Maxwell AFB, AL. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret to start.
What will you do in this role?

Provide user desktop support that includes hardware that would sit on a particular user's desk to network connectivity and basic computer functions

Maintain a directory of domain names and translate them to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.

Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment and devices

Support network and computing infrastructure.

Maintains DNS MX records for all domains accepting email services within the Microsoft O365 Cloud.

Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.

Monitor system performance and assist in implementing performance tuning.

Requires a thorough knowledge of networking essentials.

Provides support for network security through patching and system maintenance and upgrades/.

Prepares and schedules computer setup, repair, configuration changes, or replacement

Provides telephone, e-mail, remote access, or in-person solutions to day-to-day DNS issues.

Support IS team in meeting key performance indicators and metrics

Assist with the maintenance of records for hardware and software use along with license usage.

Displays continuous improvement of current processes and procedures

Develops strategies and processes to ensure on-time delivery of equipment, cost reduction opportunities and performance improvements.

Demonstrates good working knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, and common business software such as MS Office

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current operating systems

Understands the role of IS in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge with modern LAN/WAN solutions including IP networking - MPLS, QOS, SONET/SDH optical solutions, and serial communications, TCP, UDP, DHCP, SSH, NTP, DNS, ARP, ICMP, SCP, and TFTP, and DMZ zone DNS secure administration.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems, or Science/Engineering/Math with 2+ years of relevant experience OR Associate’s and 5+ years relevant experience in Information Technology preferably within system or application administration

Pay Range:Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
