About the role
We’re looking for a strong engineer who has a passion for building scalable systems and who can help drive and innovate on our enterprise payments and rewards platform at Chime! In this role, you would be developing fullstack, from building out our backend infrastructure, to working in Hotwire Native on our apps for our employee members. As a foundational member of this team, you would drive key architectural changes to the applications, APIs, and systems that power our Enterprise products.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $190,500 and up to $241,500. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Design, develop, test, refactor and scale backend implementations of new and existing enterprise product features
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand enterprise partner struggles and come up with creative solutions
- Proactively find opportunities for improving the reliability and scalability of our systems
- Work in a team as well as independently to deliver on goals to accelerate development velocity while delivering the best experience to our members
To thrive in this role, you have
- 10+ years developing software in a production environment at scale
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks
- Experience working with transactional databases and caching systems
- Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale web applications
- An appreciation of maintainable and well-tested code
- A desire to learn and dive into the deepest levels of how things work
- Start-up experience as an added plus
