Your Next Career Opportunity – Enterprise Data Governance Manager
The Enterprise Data Governance Manager will ensure that data is trusted, secure, high-quality, and properly governed throughout its lifecycle, enabling business units to leverage data with confidence for analytics, decision-making, and AI.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the enterprise data management and governance program, defining and enforcing standards, policies, and best practices.
- Own data governance frameworks including stewardship, classification, retention, compliance, and access management.
- Develop and oversee data quality programs, including standards, monitoring, metrics, and remediation.
- Drive metadata management and establish consistent practices for cataloging, lineage, and business glossary management.
- Partner with business stakeholders to establish and manage a data stewardship model, assigning accountability and ensuring adherence to policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally throughout IT to embed governance and quality controls into enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and workflows.
- Support master and reference data management initiatives, ensuring consistency and accuracy across systems.
- Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to align data practices with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
- Lead change management, training, and awareness programs to improve adoption of data management practices across the enterprise.
- Provide executive-level reporting on key metrics such as data quality, compliance, stewardship adoption, and governance maturity.
- Act as the enterprise subject matter expert for data management, advising leadership on opportunities, risks, and strategic direction.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in data management, governance, or related disciplines, with proven success leading enterprise-level initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality practices, metadata management, lineage, and stewardship models.
- Experience with enterprise data management and governance platforms (specific tools not required).
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements or industry-specific mandates.
- Strong ability to engage and influence business stakeholders, data stewards, and technical teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate governance principles into practical, business-enabling outcomes.
