Summary:

The Information Technology Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for establishing enterprise-wide standards and processes that ensure technology investments are secure, stable, sustainable, available and scalable across the Cook Children’s Health Care System. The enterprise architect role requires complex thinking and strategizing to ascertain which legacy systems can be updated, what software or hardware can be replaced and which services or products will support business operations across each department. He or she will identify and drive adoption of applicable industry best practices and enterprise architecture frameworks that include but are not limited to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT), and Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK). The EA will leverage a combination of dedicated staff and cross-functional teams that include representatives from infrastructure, applications and/or operations to achieve success. This role will be expected to lead by influence. The EA is a key member of the Information Services Leadership Team that will help mentor and develop other staff members and chair the organization’s Enterprise Architecture Committee (EAC) that will be used to govern the developed enterprise architecture standards and facilitate management of the organization’s IT lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Advanced degree in related field a preferred.
  • 10+ years or more strategic information technology experience required.
  • Experience required in the architectural design and development of information technology to include infrastructure, platform, networking, applications, and processes.
  • Experience as an Information Technology Enterprise Architect in healthcare required.
  • Clear understanding of ITIL Operations Methods required; ITIL Foundations Certification preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma preferred.
  • Experience in architecting Cloud Technologies preferred.
  • Must have sound knowledge of the healthcare environment and applications.
  • Ability to address policies, principles, and operational issues in both overview and detailed levels Innovative team building skills.
  • Ability to develop financial models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong political acumen, diplomacy, and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers, management, system and application programmers, and vendors.
  • Ability to understand the requirements of various constituencies and put them into operating terms for delivery teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, planning, problem solving, and systems design skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and activities within time, budget, and technical constraints.
  • Ability to deconstruct a verbalized goal into separate tasks that work in concert to change an idea into reliable software.
  • Proficiency with MS 365 platform to transform functional requirements into digital reality.
  • Ability to interact with technical teams in a matrixed environment.
