TIAG is now hiring an Enterprise Architect to lead ONR’s end-to-end system and technology architecture. This full time role supports our program at the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, VA.
This is a position that is 100% onsite (5 days/week at the ONR in Arlington). This position requires a Secret clearance to be able to start work. US or Naturalized Citizenship are a requirement for eligibility.
Strategic Leadership & Modernization:
- Serve as principal technical advisor to program leadership and government stakeholders, presenting transformation strategies, trade-offs, and investment recommendations.
- Evaluate emerging DoD, Navy, and commercial technologies for security, scalability, feasibility, and operational impact within the ONR environment.
Architecture & DoDAF Governance:
- Author and maintain DoDAF-compliant artifacts (OV/SV), network diagrams, workflows, and current/future-state architecture models under strict configuration control.
- Analyze cross-domain dependencies across business processes, applications, data, systems, and network infrastructure.
- Infrastructure & Systems Engineering
- Provide architectural guidance across cloud environments, virtualization, Microsoft/database technologies, enterprise networking, and ONR’s Network/Security Operations Center (NSOC).
- Lead technical design for system migrations, infrastructure consolidations, tech refreshes, and complex enterprise troubleshooting.
AWS Cloud & Systems Engineering:
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures tailored to DoD environments and mission objectives.
- Lead application migration, modernization, and integration within AWS, enterprise networks, virtualization platforms, and ONR’s Network/Security Operations Center (NSOC).
- Provide technical design for system consolidations, tech refreshes, and complex enterprise troubleshooting.
Cybersecurity & Operations:
- Partner with cybersecurity and Information Assurance teams to align all solutions with DoD security requirements and Authority to Operate (ATO) objectives.
- Establish enterprise standards, technical design principles, and engineering documentation (specifications, white papers, SOPs) across classified and unclassified environments.
- 10+ years of experience in architecture design, including enterprise and/or systems architecture within complex IT environments.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software engineering and IT architecture design and implementation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing technical analysis and producing documentation identifying interdependencies among processes, technologies, applications, systems, and data.
- Minimum 2 years of experience developing and maintaining System and Enterprise Architecture views and supporting artifacts using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- Demonstrated experience developing enterprise architecture diagrams, system views, operational views, technical architecture documentation, and workflows.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including networking, servers, virtualization, storage, identity management, databases, and enterprise applications.
- Experience designing, developing and maintaining AWS cloud architectures in support of DoD environments.
- Experience evaluating and recommending enterprise hardware, software, infrastructure, and technology solutions.
- Experience designing or supporting highly available, secure, scalable enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity architecture and DoD security requirements.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, application, and Government stakeholder teams.
- Strong technical writing skills with demonstrated experience developing architecture documentation, technical specifications, implementation documentation, and engineering recommendations.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts and architectures into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Active Secret security clearance
