Salary range: $36.39 to $50.94 per hour
The Enterprise Application Administrator is responsible for the administration and daily operation of STCU servers and the applications they support for employees, members, and other systems. This position focuses on performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and automation tasks while ensuring system reliability and uptime. Working under the guidance of senior team members, this role assists in scripting, patch management, and documentation to support the organization's technical infrastructure.
Core Job Requirements/Outcomes
- Support software applications and troubleshooting by handling ticket escalations from other departments utilizing systematic troubleshooting processes to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Escalate complex problems to senior team members when necessary while developing foundational automation and scripting skills to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure system reliability by following established procedures, maintain up-to-date documentation to reflect current practices and support protocols, coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with other teams and users, and assist in scripting and automation initiatives to streamline routine tasks and enhance consistency.
- Maintain a secure IT environment by understanding the security implications of system changes and following best practices, proactively identify and escalate potential risks, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the organization’s overall security posture.
- Support the engineering team by assisting with application onboarding, ensuring day-to-day functionality, and understanding upgrade and maintenance approaches; promote and encourage proper change management practices in supported applications.
Other Essential Functions
- Ensure employees have the appropriate and secure access to the applications needed to perform their roles effectively. Provide basic support for access and connectivity-related issues, coordinating with internal teams or vendors as necessary to resolve problems.
- Collaborates with application vendors to maintain systems within supported versions, reviewing product release notes to enhance stability and performance.
- Assist with the support and upkeep of existing automation processes using tools like PowerShell and other established methods and monitors routine tasks to identify potential automation opportunities.
- Contribute to and support a positive work environment to ensure an effective, high preforming and cohesive team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study or specialized training from an accredited vocational school or equivalent years of experience in enterprise environments supporting applications required.
Certification: Current applicable industry standard certifications relating to Microsoft Server, Security, or SQL preferred.
Job Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a Windows Server environment, with a foundational understanding of TCP/IP networking, DHCP, and Active Directory required. Familiarity with virtual server platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) are detail-oriented, eager to grow technical skills, and capable of supporting enterprise applications with minimal supervision.
Software Skills: Proficient in supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server–based applications in a production environment. Basic experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages. Comfortable working with core Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Demonstrates a developing understanding of enterprise application functionality and is capable of learning system-specific administrative tools under guidance.
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 50 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. This role is part of an on-call rotation within a one-hour response time.
