What will you do? 

  • Provide our BIG-IP and NGINX customers with crucial guidance as they migrate to modular and containerized environments.  As a trusted advisor you will help customers realize all the benefits of our Application Services across multiple cloud environments. 

  • Lead multiple technology challenges, prioritizing by customer and business needs. 

  • Through our Knowledge Centered Service (KCS) practices, turn your experience into knowledge for customers and peers. 

  • Work closely with Product Management and Product Development on new leading edge products and technologies. 

  • Ability to focus on overall customer satisfaction and a complete customer experience. 

  • Ability to lead the resolution outcomes of customer’s complex technical issues, with minimal direction. 

  • Working with our newest products and technologies, you are curious and have a growth mind set to continuously learn about our products, sub-systems and other technologies. 

  • Ability to work with a small experienced global team that is passionate about the customer’s outcomes, helping each other thrive and being an owner of the resolution. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. 

  • Must be able to articulate deeply complex technical topics to customers, peers, and non-technical personnel in an influential and understandable manner. 

  • Ability to defuse complicated technical and political situations with enterprise customers. 

  • Be an analytical thinker with show attention to detail. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with management on special projects, including project updates, etc. 

 

How do you qualify? 

  • Hold a BS in Computer Sciences (or related degree) or showcase equivalent experience 

  • Showcase at least 8 years of relevant work experience 

 

Knowledge that you will utilize: 

  • Knowledgeable of load balancers, web servers (NGINX), caching, and web-enabled applications and their associated protocols, e.g., HTTP, TCP/IP, WebSocket 

  • Experience with SSL, SMTP, DNS, etc. 

  • Knowledge of Linux or Unix, preferably at a system administrator level 

  • Comfortable in a highly technical software support environment 

  • Experience with network troubleshooting using tools like tcpdump or Wireshark 

 

Strong working experience with the following: 

  • Container platforms (eg. Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift) 

  • Familiarity with proxy servers (eg, NGINX) 

  • Troubleshooting REST APIs (familiar with JSON and YAML) 

  • Scripting and/or Automation (eg. Python, Shell scripts, Ansible) 

  • Cloud platforms and infrastructure (eg. AWS/Azure/GCE, Terraform) 

  • Shell environments (eg. Bash) 

  • Experience with system tools, such as SystemTap and DTrace, are a plus 

  • Comfortable with the layers of abstraction present in virtualization, encapsulation, and clustered computing environments. 

  • Familiarity with a wide variety of networking topics. 

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, including technical concepts and terminology. Multiple language skills a plus. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • KCS Practices certification a plus 

  

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material. 

  • Duties may require being on-call periodically and working outside normal working hours (holidays, evenings, and/or weekends). 

  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, up to 10% of time.

The annual base pay for this position is: $100,737.00 - $151,105.00

The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
