Group/Division
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.
Job Description
As a Software Engineer, you will join our Dynamic Team on the journey to Modernize our product and deliver Innovative Software solutions to our customers. You will develop the User Interface and Business Logic for real time, high speed optical systems that use cutting edge Computer Vision and Deep Learning Technology to deliver best of breed products. You will collaborate with various teams to contribute to the success of the entire organization. As a member of the team a successful candidate will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the system and software architecture. Successful candidates will have very strong software engineering skills as well as a passion for working with strong STEM based projects.
- Responsible for the design, development, testing and roll out of software solutions that enhance the capabilities of the KLA inspection products.
- Possess good communication skills to work with several hardware and software interdisciplinary teams to understand the system/marketing requirements and to map them to software requirements and design.
- Candidate should (over time) develop deep understanding of how the system works and be able to provide software solutions for critical customer gaps or issues. Develop and evaluate concepts and designs for the next generation systems by conducting trade-off studies, identifying risk items and suggest mitigation plans.
- Work in a geographically distributed team to develop and deliver software solutions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where communication and collaboration with a large multi-disciplinary team is a significant part of the job. That is, coding is not the only skill needed for this job. While documentation and other offline support will be available, interacting with stakeholders will remain an indispensable part of understanding what needs to be done, and validating the work that is done.
- Good debugging skills in a complex software setup involving multi-process/multiple systems in Windows / Linux environment with good OS concepts
Qualifications
- Holds a degree MS/MCA/MTech
- Strong in programming fundamentals, C++ / C# / .NET Core / .NET Framework and Angular with good software design exposure
- Excellent software engineering skills, including deep conceptual and applied knowledge of OOP, design patterns, data structures, distributed systems, multi-threaded and multi-process programming.
- Ability to take abstract problem statements and detail them out into concrete requirements and design through collaborative discussions.
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comprehensive understanding of SDLC and software engineering principles
- Adept in advanced debugging and troubleshooting methods.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
