We're seeking an experienced leader to head our Engineering & Technical Services function within the C-27J Program. This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for leading a large technical workforce, driving customer outcomes, developing capability, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of engineering services in a dynamic operational environment.

What You'll Do

As Engineering & Technical Services Manager, you will:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering and technical services team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.

  • Provide strategic, tactical and operational leadership to ensure customer requirements and contractual obligations are successfully delivered.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across customers, program leadership, engineering teams and key operational stakeholders.

  • Oversee planning, prioritisation, scheduling, resource management and reporting across a diverse portfolio of engineering activities.

  • Drive workforce planning, capability development and succession planning to support current and future business needs.

  • Work collaboratively across engineering, maintenance, supply chain, flight operations, training and capability development functions to achieve integrated outcomes.

  • Lead the delivery of critical engineering and airworthiness services while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance.

  • Manage risk, issues and opportunities, ensuring effective governance, reporting and decision-making.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering systems, processes and business performance.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Proven experience leading and developing large, multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity and deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments.

  • Strategic mindset with strong operational execution capability.

  • Experience within Defence, aerospace, aviation or another highly regulated industry is highly regarded.

Security Requirements

Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, an NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance.

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role. You will also need to satisfy police checks and employment screening verification
