Squarespace is looking for an Engineering Team Manager to lead a team within the Acuity Scheduling group. Acuity Scheduling’s mission is to help appointment-based businesses start and grow their service by allowing clients to directly schedule appointments, removing administrative burden and giving our users more time to focus on what they love doing. We are a distinct brand and platform within the Squarespace suite of products. The Acquisition team works to expand the platform that drives Acuity’s public web footprint, while experimenting with new strategies within various acquisition channels inclusive of email, SMS, web and mobile. We’re looking for a technical manager with full stack or front end experience that can lead by example to create engineering solutions to business needs, technical debt, system design and architecture.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Manager of Acuity’s Growth group.

You'll Get To…

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of experienced Software Engineers ICs across a spectrum of seniority.
  • Assume an active role in the career development of direct reports with regular 1:1s, direct feedback, coaching.
  • Exercise technical expertise in reviewing project initiatives and selecting new projects to pursue.
  • Participate in system design, best practices and architecture discussions to inform our future roadmap.
  • Lead large-scale initiatives that impact millions of users.

Who We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of industry experience shipping web applications across large codebases with many contributors.
  • 1+ years of experience managing a Product engineering team of four or more engineers.
  • Ability to break down technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders through documents and presentations.
  • Strong technical foundations to navigate the inherent tradeoffs in product engineering decisions
  • A manager who prioritizes an inclusive culture of psychological safety and technical rigor.
  • A technical manager who can lead by example, including writing and reviewing code.

Cash Compensation Range: $153,500 - 247,250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
